James asks…
Have you been scammed by creditreport.com?
Don’t confuse this with www.freecreditreport.com or www.annualcreditreport.com, these sites are reputable and it is the goal of creditreport.com to confuse you.
You have to sign up for their crediit monitoring to get your “free” report and credit score. That is pretty standard with the other 2 sites as well but the problem starts when you try to cancel, especially if you kept the service for any length of time after the free trial. They will do anything to try and retain you, they even have a retention department dedicated to doing just that. A call to cancel is worse than a trip to the dentist, then after you think you have cancelled, billing continues as usual.
They claim to have no information about confirmation numbers that they themselves gave you and they claim you never cancelled.
I have reported them to the BBB and everyone else I can think of, I urge anyone else who has dealt with this company to do the same.
These are my own personal experiences, do you have any?
I want to make it clear that I understand that you can get your free report at http://www.annualcreditreport.com Everyone should do that and I advise that you get one from each agency(Trans Union, Equifax and Experian) every 4 months)
What I wanted from creditreport.com was the monitoring they said they offered because I had some problems with identity theft and wanted to be notified immediately to changes in my credit profile. What I did not want was the run around when I tried to cancel this. I can see how this company abused and attempted to bully me and I was fully aware of what I was signing up for, my concern is that it totally takes advantage of the unsuspecting just looking for a free report. A web search reveals the true nature of creditreport.com AKA Might Net Inc.
My advice, avoid them like an STD!

Stan answers:
Yes, my husband went on to look at his one FREE credit report & they signed him up for this recurring thing without his permission & started billing our checking account for it. I had to call the bank to find out who this company even was. According to my bank, this has happend to several people.

Laura asks…
Conflicting Scores From TrueCredit.com & CreditReport.com, Who’s Right?
Ok… I have conflicting credit reports and am totally confused as to why, and not sure who to believe now. I got my scores from two websites on the same day and they’re both different.
Creditreport.com – 6/18
Experian: 706
Equifax: 721
Transunion: We were unable to generate a credit score for you due to insufficient tradelines.
After pulling that initial report on 6/18, I realized my amex and discover needed to be increased. I asked discover to increase the limit and they did right away. Amex refused with a standard response (despite excellent standing). Did nothing else with credit.
Yesterday I pulled my scores again since I’m in the market for a vehicle, only this time from TrueCredit.com because it was TransUnion who didnt have a score on 6/18. So here’s what I got…
TrueCredit.com – 7/4
Experian: 673
Equifax: 666
Transunion: 732
Ok so TransUnion does have a score for me, and a rather good one.. right? So I’m confused about the high TransUnion and low Equifax and Experian, so I went back to CreditReport.com and paid for another report. Here’s what I got:
CreditReport.com – 7/4
Experian: 716
Equifax: 740
Transunion: We were unable to generate a credit score for you due to insufficient tradelines.
Ok… so CreditReport.com charges for all 3 scores, and only gives me two. And increasing the limits on the cards helped as I thought it would
But my scores are a huge difference between the two websites pulled on the same day. What should I believe? What do I go with? What do you think should be my next course of action?
Thank you

Stan answers:
Neither of them have your correct FICO scores…
Go to Myfico.com to get your Fico scores for Equifax and Transunion, but as for Experian you cannot view it online anymore.

Donald asks…
Creditreport.com scammed me, should I be worried about identity theft?
Ok so I signed up at creditreport.com because of an add on craigslist. Stupid, I know, I already called the bank and they deactivated my card so they won’t be able to charge it but what I’m worried about is my information. Can they use it for identity theft?
I’m also worried that it will ruin my credit because they won’t let me cancel my account because they “can’t find it”. So since I won’t be making my “payments” will they report it and screw up my score? My credit is flawless and I want it to stay that way!

Stan answers:
Contact them, they are a member of the BBB. They are legit. Because they are legit, there’s a chance that they’ll reverse charges. Just explain what happened.
Don’t be shy, email them:

Stan answers:
Contact your credit card compnay to dispute the charges and cancel.
Cheap tickets. Com nailed me once for a $15.00 a month fee that I never wanted. My credit card company took care of it and I got my money back for the charges.
Good luck.
